Complimentary Consultation:

During our complimentary consultation, a trained evaluator visits with the student and family to discuss the student’s academic goals and to get to know the student personally.  This meeting helps to ensure an excellent student-tutor match.

Diagnostic Exams/Initial Assessments:

Fresh Outlook Tutors uses diagnostic exams and/or initial assessments to evaluate students academically and to determine how they can meet their academic goals. Based on diagnostic results, academic goals, and available preparation time, Fresh Outlook Tutors creates a comprehensive study calendar for students.

Solidifying Academic Basics:

Our tutors make certain that students have mastered key academic concepts before attacking more rigorous standardized test-type questions. Often, students have not been taught basic concepts in school or have forgotten fundamentals. Our tutors reinforce these underlying concepts to guarantee that the student can apply the basics to more challenging questions.

Learning Strategies/Techniques:

Our tutors teach test-specific strategies to help students navigate the test. Students learn methods to get to the correct answer in the shortest amount of time.  These time-saving techniques allow extra time to be spent on more difficult problems and on a final check to eliminate careless mistakes.

Proctored Exams/Homework:

Through weekly homework assignments and proctored exams, Fresh Outlook Tutors ensures that students know the test inside and out: There are no surprises! Whenever possible, we utilize past exams or material written by the authors of the exam to provide a glimpse into what the actual test questions will look like. Our students have reported back to us that they were able to answer difficult exam questions because they were nearly identical to the questions studied during tutoring sessions.
